Sneaky Little Hopses
West Coast IPA | 6.7% | Inspiration: The Two Towers by JRR Tolkien
This west coast IPA is just that, a balance between a soft and sweet maltiness with a strong bitter hop bite. Brewed with about 90% 2-row base malt and just a touch of Caramalt for a slight toffee note and a touch of color. A classic addition of Chinook hops for bitterness is balanced well with the citrus, melon, and wine must character of Amarillo and Nelson Sauvin hops. All rounded out with Chico ale yeast to add a clean finish. No matter if you are a Gollum or a Smeagol, this beer has something for you.

A Beer of Very Little Brain
Amber Wheat Lager | 4.9% | Inspiration: Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne
We took the classic American style wheat beer and played with the recipe just enough to make it our own. We used a lager yeast to ferment the beer. The lager yeast was slowly allowed to rise in temperature from 50F to 65F. (This is what is known as a “steam” beer, or common ale.) The warm lager fermentation creates a unique flavor profile that perfectly compliments this style of beer. Honey malt provides a subtle honey flavor without the addition of actual honey.

Off Script
Dry Pilsner | 5% | Inspiration: Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Some of the best music happens when the band goes “off script” and improvises. We went off the Pilsner script and made our Pilsner super dry. (Seriously. It’s negative plato.)Saaz hops in the whirlpool. Saphire dry hop. 100% Floor Malted Bohemian Pilsner malt.

Imperial Sweet Stout | 10% | Inspiration: Fiction Beer Company
Ten years. It is a big number for a business. A milestone. To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we wanted to brew a beer that is equally as big and impressive. Using a variety of techniques employed throughout the years we developed a bold, roasty, and dense sweet stout. Black as night from a decadent chocolate malt. Rich as toffee from English Marris Otter malt. And notes of chocolate, coffee, and caramel envelope the senses. Brewed to a gravity of 23P, meaning this beast had lots of sugars to ferment to give us a bold 10% ABV for our 10th anniversary. Smooth, balanced, and rich, this anniversary edition is not to be missed.

Alternate Present
Schwarzbier/Dark Lager | 5.2% | Inspiration: Man in the High Castle by Philip K Dick
We couldn’t help but wonder what type of beer we would be drinking in Phillip K Dick’s world? Schwarzbier? A beer that literally translates to “black beer” in German. And although this beer’s appearance is dark and gloomy - don’t be fooled - much like the novel, this beer is soft, rich and surprisingly elegant. Schwarzbier is a German dark lager with the drinkability of a pilsner and the flavor of a porter. Flavors of chocolate with a bit of roasted marshmallows up front, a slight fruity ester note in the middle, then fading to a clean malty finish. Despite the color, it’s a sessionable beer.

Competing Omens
Spiced Winter Warmer | 7.3% | Inspiration: Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice
With a simple base amber recipe of Vienna, Munich, and crystal malts, this beer really accentuates a caramel and toffee forward flavor. Belgian candi syrup also adds to this sweetness with a slight molasses, caramel note. A touch of Hallertau hops lends an earthy spiciness to the character of this beer. Orange peel, cinnamon sticks, and nutmeg were soaked in Amaretto and added post-fermentation. The spice blend addition was a favorite from past years and lends a familiar warmth and sweetness to this cozy and classic style.

Our Veritaserum is brewed using skills only known to the Order of Brewers including a 48-hour kettle sour regime followed immediately by a lengthy boil to both purify the brew and accentuate the malt flavor. Fermentation is completed using yeast from the old world that creates a distinct character to the potion. The addition of raw pumpkin juice and cranberry work to develop the complex aroma and flavor that are required to ensnare your senses and unbind your tongue.
