The full lineup:
- Flash tattoos with Silverback Studios from 9:30am-8pm
- Our anniversary beer goes on tap at 10am
- Limited release brunch beer menu from 10am til they run out
- Kary's Rolling Cafe & Creperie parked outside from 10am-7pm

Book Signing w/ June Patrick

Looking for the perfect, light-hearted fall book to read? Escape to Spain with local author June Patrick's latest release: The Valencia Expat Club! Swing by our taproom from 2-5pm on Sunday, October 12th to grab a copy, get it signed, and chat with June!

About June Patrick:

June Patrick writes witty, escapist stories set in swoony, faraway places. She is obsessed with all things European and dreams of moving to the Riviera where she can run around all day like Grace Kelly. A Northern California native, she now moves around the country like a nomad with her real-life hero of a husband and their toddler daughter. They currently call Colorado home where they begrudgingly battle snow. You can find her at JunePatrick.com or connect on Instagram and TikTok:@JunePatrickAuthor.

About The Valencia Expat Club:

A juicy, heartwarming novel set against stunning Spanish settings, where delicious food, romantic adventures, and the transformative magic of starting over in Spain lead Dahlia Delaney to uncover family, friendship, self-discovery, and an unexpected new beginning.

Dahlia Delaney’s marriage just imploded, her friend group picked a side (not hers), and her fancy San Francisco life now fits into a single suitcase. Armed with a broken heart, a freelance marketing gig, and one blurry childhood memory of her abuela’s garden, she impulsively hops on a flight to Valencia, Spain, to reconnect with distant family—and maybe herself.

But Valencia isn’t just sunny plazas and sangria. There’s her chaotic new job at a quirky expat bar, a family she barely knows but who embrace her like she’s always belonged, and a brooding American bar owner who’s frustratingly attractive and entirely too familiar.

As Dahlia stumbles through language mishaps, clashing cultures, and late-night paella with new friends, she begins to realize that the fresh start she came for might turn into something even better—if she can let go of the life she planned and embrace the one unfolding around her.

Perfect for anyone who’s ever dreamed of starting over somewhere with better wine, The Valencia Expat Club is a sparkling, laugh-out-loud romantic escape about second chances, delicious detours, and finding home where you least expect it.

Teeny Tiny Bookshop Pop-Up + Book Signing w/ Ellen O'Clover

Join us for an extra-special pop-up event with Teeny Tiny Bookshop! Not only will they be parked outside for all of your book-buying needs, but we'll also have local author Ellen O'Clover in our taproom signing copies of her new book, The Heartbreak Hotel.

About Ellen O'Clover:
Ellen O’Clover writes stories about love, identity, and belonging for both teens and adults. She grew up in Ohio and studied creative writing at the Johns Hopkins University before moving west to Colorado, where she lives in a little green house under a giant aspen tree with her rocket scientist husband and two perfect bulldogs.

About The Heartbreak Hotel:
A bed-and-breakfast for the brokenhearted might hold the key to another chance at love in this achingly hopeful debut romance.

Louisa Walsh emerged from a tumultuous childhood with a degree in counseling, a wealthy boyfriend, and her sunny outlook on life mostly intact. But that optimism is tested when she’s dumped and left unable to afford rent on their gorgeous house in the mountains of Colorado. Even with her life in disarray, Lou knows losing the one stable place she’s ever called home is not an option.

Her plan: ask her reclusive landlord, Henry Rhodes, to let her stay for free in exchange for renting out the house’s many rooms as a bed-and-breakfast. She’s shocked when he agrees to her terms, and even more surprised to discover Henry is a handsome thirtysomething veterinarian with silver at his temples and sadness in his eyes. One who does not take it well when Lou starts marketing her B and B as a retreat for the recently heartbroken.

But as the Comeback Inn opens its doors to its weary, hopeful guests, Lou and Henry find themselves dancing around both their undeniable connection and the closely held secrets that threaten to topple this fragile new start. A chance at love, here, could be too close to home…or it could be exactly where their hearts finally heal.

Game Night

Our regular group of game nighters are back! Swing by our taproom on Tuesday, August 5th from 6pm onward for an open game night.

New members are always welcome. Open game nights offer easy, moderate, and higher level access points for all interests and capacities (because we know, we all sometimes just want to learn something fun and easy to relax after a long week!). You can jump in on a game that seems interesting to you or come prepared with a game you want to teach and share with others.

Regular game nighters are invited to join a Discord channel to stay connected on events and sign up for featured games.

We look forward to seeing you there! All are invited. Our game night space welcomes neurodiverse folx and is LGBTQ+ friendly.

Book Release & Signing: Sharing the Groove by Mike Ayers

Join us in our taproom on August 18th to welcome Mike Ayers for the release of his latest book, Sharing the Groove! If you're a Dead-Head, Phish fanatic, or love any of the 90s jam bands like Dave Matthews and Blues Traveler, swing by to grab a copy of the book and get it signed.

Plus, stick around for Mike in conversation with Fiction co-owner, Elise Sjostedt - and maybe ask some questions of your own.

About Mike Ayers:
Mike Ayers is a seasoned music and culture journalist, with work published in Billboard, The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, TIME Magazine, Reuters, Uproxx, and Relix. His first book, One Last Song: Conversations on Life, Death and Music, was published in 2020 and picked as one of Variety's Best Music Books of the year.

About the book:
The wild, untold oral history of the unlikely rise of Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, and numerous other bands that helped define the 1990s jam band scene.

Sharing in the Groove is the untold oral history behind the unlikely rise of Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, and numerous other bands that helped define the 1990s jam band scene — a scene that paved the way for modern-day cultural institutions such as the Bonnaroo Music Festival, as well as kept the Grateful Dead ethos alive. It was also a scene with its own values and its own unique interactions with fame, record labels, MTV, drugs, and success.

As a veteran music journalist, Mike Ayers has been to more than 130 Phish shows, 20 Grateful Dead shows, and countless others by the bands profiled in this book. In the mid-90s, he stumbled upon a job working backstage for Phish as a prep cook in exchange for all-access passes for the night’s show, and ended up doing this for years. Later in the decade, he dabbled in the taping scene and recorded numerous shows that are still circulated online today.

Filled with anecdotes and stories directly from the musicians, promoters, managers, roadies, producers, label executives, and fans that lived this scene, Sharing in the Groove is a fun, fast-paced oral history that will appeal to music lovers everywhere.
