Smutty Book Club
What happens when a lawyer and a literature professor walk into a Miami Art Deco building? We're about to find out in Only Lovers in the Building by Nadine Gonzalez!
As always, Spicy Librarian is our recommended bookstore to grab your copy.
The Fiction Beer Company Smutty Book Club meets on the first Monday of every month. We discuss our current reads, our darkest desires, and share a beverage (or two) with fellow smut enthusiasts. Be sure to check out the Facebook page to join the community and to keep up to date on the monthly polls!
About the Book:
After her legal career comes to a sudden and humiliating end, Liliane Lyon books a restorative summer rental at The Icon, a quintessential Art Deco building in Miami Beach, where her only plan is to bask in the sun, read, and sip cocktails. But soon she’s enchanted by the colorful community, including university professor Benedicto Romero—resident tortured poet, whose sole intention for sabbatical is to indulge in brooding introspection.
When they discover a shared passion for romance novels, Lily and Ben are soon spending hours reading together by the pool, the spark between them unwittingly giving the other residents the impression that they’re experts in matters of the heart…no matter that IRL their disastrous love lives bear little resemblance to the stories they’re reading.
But while Ben and Lily can pinpoint a trope a mile away and give excellent advice to others, they can’t make sense of the sizzling chemistry between them, and the suggestion of a professional podcast suddenly forces them to consider the long—term. So what if it means working even closer together! So what if their banter makes Lily's head spin! It’s the summer of taking chances, but a word to the wise: Miami isn’t the place for growth and rebirth. It’s the place to get messy.

Bridgerton Trivia
Dearest Gentle Reader,
It is with the greatest delight (and a most tantalizing flutter of anticipation) that this author announces an evening of utmost distinction and delicious scandal: Bridgerton Themed Trivia. Prepare yourselves to step into a world of silken gowns, sharp glances exchanged across the ballroom, and secrets whispered behind gloved hands.
On this most noteworthy occasion, guests shall test their knowledge of the ton’s finest romances, most infamous intrigues, and the dazzling lives of the Bridgerton family themselves. Only the sharpest minds—and those with a keen eye for drama—will prevail, for every question may prove as perilous as a misplaced dance card.
Prizes, one hears, await those whose wit shines brighter than a debutante’s diamonds. Whether you arrive eager for victory or merely for amusement, rest assured: there will be gossip, glory, and perhaps a surprise or two that even this author did not foresee.
Sam’s Crumb Cart, modest in name yet scandalously generous in spirit, is dispensing baked goods so divine they could incite even the most disciplined of society to abandon all restraint. Should one wish to witness this delicious affair firsthand, know that the cart shall make its appearance between the most bewitching hours of 6–8pm—though this author cautions that arriving fashionably late may result in nothing more than crumbs and regret.
So polish your intellect, don your best Regency-inspired finery (optional, but strongly encouraged and rewarded with a free shot of beer), and remember—nothing escapes notice in high society.
Yours truly,
Lady Whistledown

Smutty Book Club
The Irish mob meets the Italian mafia in our January pick: Brutal Vows by J.T. Geissinger.
As always, Spicy Librarian is our recommended bookstore to grab your copy!
The fourth book in the scorchingly hot mafia romance Queens and Monsters series by New York Times bestselling author J.T. Geissinger, where John Wick meets Romeo and Juliet.
An Irish mobster with a brutal grudge.
An Italian mafia princess with a dark secret.
Two enemy empires joined in sacred marriage vows.
Let the hating games begin.
Reyna:
If this arrogant Irish mobster my brother sold my niece to thinks I’m going to play nice over this arranged marriage BS, he should think again. I don’t care if this match with the Mob will make my brother capo of the Five Families.
I don’t care how much money, territory, or power it will gain us. I especially don’t care that the Irishman is the sexiest man I’ve ever seen. I won’t allow my innocent niece to suffer the same way I did.
Even if I have to kill him.
Spider:
I’m supposed to marry sweet, beautiful Lili. So why can’t I stop thinking about her swamp witch of an aunt?
Reyna who hates me. Reyna who challenges me. Reyna with the guts of a Viking, the body of a fertility goddess, and the attitude of a feral cat.
Nothing good can come of what I’m feeling for a woman who’s not the one in the wedding contract I signed. A woman I want so much, I’ll have to burn the whole world down to get.
If she doesn’t kill me first.
