Smutty Book Club

We're getting in the holiday spirit with Meghan Quinn's latest release: Merry Christmas, You Filthy Animal! Snuggle up under a blanket, grab your beverage of choice, and escape to a holiday town in the Rockies with Max and Betty.

As always, Spicy Librarian is our recommended bookstore to grab your copy!

The Fiction Beer Company Smutty Book Club meets on the first Monday of every month! We discuss our current reads, our darkest desires, and share a beverage (or two) with fellow smut enthusiasts. Be sure to check out the Facebook page to join the community and to keep up to date on the monthly polls!

About the Book:

Nothing says I love you like trespassing, public humiliation, and a town-wide Christmas spectacle to win your crush back.

Atlas "Max" Maxheimer did not sign up for this. One minute, he's anxiously trying to keep his family's Christmas tree farm from imploding. The next? He's passed out in the snow after getting clocked by a suspiciously strong bottle of soda.

Enter Betty: new in town, full of holiday cheer, and helping her uncle open a rival tree farm next door. Max is convinced she's out to destroy everything Evergreen Farm stands for. Betty thinks Max might be one sleigh short of a winter parade.

Cue the holiday chaos.

Between blizzards, blown reputations, wildly misguided romantic plots, and one stolen ornament with a seriously tragic backstory, this small-town war turns into something far messier—and much more delicious—than either of them expected.

Tropes:
Holiday hijinks
Small-town laughs
Rivals to lovers

Audacious Immersive Presents: Drunk Christmas

Audacious Immersive’s Award-Winning Holiday Fundraiser Returns—Now with Even More Holiday Cheer

Denver’s favorite Christmastime tradition is back—and bigger than ever!

Audacious Immersive’s Drunk Christmas, winner of Westword’s Best Holiday Show (2024), returns to breweries across the Denver-metro area for another season of festive chaos and theatrical delight.

This interactive, streamlined adaptation of A Christmas Carol will pop up at more brewery locations than ever before, spreading holiday cheer across the Denver area. Audiences are invited to raise a glass with the show’s merrily tipsy cast as they teach Scrooge the true meaning of Christmas—and all its “spirits.”

Guests can take part in the jolly festivities with a Christmas Carol–themed drinking game, grab Rocky Horror–style prop bags, or simply sit back and enjoy the joyful raucousness with friends and family.

New for 2025: Saturday shows will feature festive pre-show entertainment, including trivia, caroling, live music, and holiday sketch comedy—making every weekend a full winter celebration.

The runtime is approximately one hour, and tickets are pay-what-you-can, with VIP upgrades available. Proceeds from this year’s tour support Audacious Immersive’s 2026 Ten-Year Anniversary Season and the development of the company’s first permanent immersive venue, The Audacious Space.

Grown Up Book Fair w/ Second Star to the Right

Our monthly book fair at Fiction Beer Co is on! Stop by for some great drinks and some great books. Local author Thea Weiss will be joining us to sign copies of her new book The Second Chance Cinema, We will also have gift items for those looking to do early holiday shopping!

About the book:

A magical theater atop a cobblestone path alters what a couple knows about themselves—and each other—in this scintillating debut brimming with nostalgia and life-affirming wonder.

At the end of a fog-covered alley, glitters a glamorous cinema. It’s nearly impossible to find. When Ellie and her fiancé, Drake, stumble upon it during a late-night walk, they’re shocked to discover what’s playing inside the red-velvet auditorium: their formative memories.

Drake fears what the cinema might reveal, but eventually gives in when Ellie insists they return for more viewings. She’s haunted by a night from her past that she doesn’t fully remember. This is her opportunity to piece the story back together. But as the memories displayed on screen inch closer to the present, they realize they’re both keeping secrets from each other.

With their wedding on the horizon, Ellie and Drake must decide if seeing their pasts changes their plans for a future together. Filled with warmth, hope, and a dash of magic, The Second Chance Cinema is both an enchanting escape and a thought-provoking examination of how our memories shape who we are.

Book Signing w/ June Patrick

Looking for the perfect, light-hearted fall book to read? Escape to Spain with local author June Patrick's latest release: The Valencia Expat Club! Swing by our taproom from 5-7pm on Friday, November 21st to grab a copy, get it signed, and chat with June!

About June Patrick:

June Patrick writes witty, escapist stories set in swoony, faraway places. She is obsessed with all things European and dreams of moving to the Riviera where she can run around all day like Grace Kelly. A Northern California native, she now moves around the country like a nomad with her real-life hero of a husband and their toddler daughter. They currently call Colorado home where they begrudgingly battle snow. You can find her at JunePatrick.com or connect on Instagram and TikTok:@JunePatrickAuthor.

About The Valencia Expat Club:

A juicy, heartwarming novel set against stunning Spanish settings, where delicious food, romantic adventures, and the transformative magic of starting over in Spain lead Dahlia Delaney to uncover family, friendship, self-discovery, and an unexpected new beginning.

Dahlia Delaney’s marriage just imploded, her friend group picked a side (not hers), and her fancy San Francisco life now fits into a single suitcase. Armed with a broken heart, a freelance marketing gig, and one blurry childhood memory of her abuela’s garden, she impulsively hops on a flight to Valencia, Spain, to reconnect with distant family—and maybe herself.

But Valencia isn’t just sunny plazas and sangria. There’s her chaotic new job at a quirky expat bar, a family she barely knows but who embrace her like she’s always belonged, and a brooding American bar owner who’s frustratingly attractive and entirely too familiar.

As Dahlia stumbles through language mishaps, clashing cultures, and late-night paella with new friends, she begins to realize that the fresh start she came for might turn into something even better—if she can let go of the life she planned and embrace the one unfolding around her.

Perfect for anyone who’s ever dreamed of starting over somewhere with better wine, The Valencia Expat Club is a sparkling, laugh-out-loud romantic escape about second chances, delicious detours, and finding home where you least expect it.

Open game nights offer easy, moderate, and higher level access points for all interests and capacities (because we know, we all sometimes just want to learn something fun and easy to relax after a long week!). You can jump in on a game that seems interesting to you or come prepared with a game you want to teach and share with others.

Regular game nighters are invited to join a Discord channel to stay connected on events and sign up for featured games.

We look forward to seeing you there! All are invited. Our game night space welcomes neurodiverse folx and is LGBTQ+ friendly.

The Fae Cart Pop-Up

Romantasy lovers, this one's for you! We met the owner of The Fae Cart, Mary Beth, down at Lone Tree Craftoberfest and just knew we needed a pop-up in our taproom.

Swing by between 5:30-7:30pm on Monday, November 3rd to peruse the pop-up!

From Mary Beth:
Hi, I’m Mary Beth! I am the founder of The Fae Cart, a traveling romantasy bookshop. Books have always been my safe place. They’ve given me magic, escape, and hope when life felt heavy. My heart has always been in helping people feel seen, safe, and whole, and The Fae Cart is an extension of that calling.

This isn’t just a bookshop to me. It’s a space where stories meet soul work, where healing can happen between the pages, and where community can be built one enchanted book at a time. I want The Fae Cart to feel like a cozy, regulating refuge for everyone who visits. And this is just the beginning! My bigger dream is to create a space that holds both: a bookshop filled with magic and story, and a community space where circles, breathwork, and connection can unfold. Whether at a blind date with a book pop-up or one day in a brick-and-mortar shop, my vision is to bring these worlds together so people can feel safe, inspired, and at home.

Audacious Immersive Presents: Cult of Cthulhu

Join the Cult. Summon the Terror. Laugh in the Face of Cosmic Dread.

This Halloween season, "Cult of Cthulhu" transforms the chilling tales of H.P. Lovecraft into a campy, interactive horror comedy. Part theatre, part ritual, part satire — audiences are invited to join rival cults, participate in eldritch ceremonies, and laugh nervously in the face of cosmic dread.

From Audacious Immersive — the company behind last year’s "Frankenstein" and 2023’s large-scale "Haunting of Your House" — comes a new Halloween tradition for Denver: interactive literary horror in community spaces. Known for blending theatricality, comedy, and audience participation, Audacious returns with its most biting (and hilarious) Halloween experience yet.

Tickets start at $25 → audaciousimmersive.com
